- Audayikaऔदयिक
- State arising from the rise (operation) of karma.
- Twenty-one kinds, including the four gatis, four kaṣāyas, three vedas and six leśyās. This is the state in which most worldly experience occurs.

- Kaṣāyaकषाय
- Passion — anger, pride, deceit, greed.
- Each in four intensities (anantānubandhī, apratyākhyāna, pratyākhyāna, sañjvalana), giving sixteen. Passion determines the duration and intensity of bondage.

- No-kaṣāyaनोकषाय
- Quasi-passions — nine subsidiary emotional dispositions.
- Laughter, liking, disliking, grief, fear, disgust and the three sex-dispositions. Subdivisions of conduct-deluding karma.
