- Samyag-darśanaसम्यग्दर्शन
- Right faith — settled conviction in reality as it is.
- The first jewel. Defined in 1.2 as tattvārtha-śraddhāna: conviction regarding the seven tattvas. It arises either spontaneously (nisarga) or through instruction (adhigama), and its five transgressions are doubt, worldly desire, disgust, admiration of wrong views and praise of them.

- Tattvaतत्त्व
- Reality-category; one of the seven fundamentals.
- Jīva, ajīva, āsrava, bandha, saṃvara, nirjarā, mokṣa. Adding puṇya and pāpa gives the nine padārthas of the later tradition.
